Let the force be with you!

In Year 5 this half term we have been learning all about forces!
Here we began exploring if gravity is everywhere on Earth

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Then we began exploring the force friction and how it works.

We were given the challenge of being designers and designing a race track that would give the least amount of friction. We then used our measurement skills to see which material had the least amount of friction and therefore allowed the car to travel the furthest.

 What material do you think would be the best for a race track?

 

 

 

Finally, today we had to help Humpty Dumpty! We were learning all about air resistance and were designers for a new parachute that Humpty Dumpty could use to safely land from a high distance.
