On Monday in R.E we thought about fair and unfair, rich and poor and how to change the world. We use watercolours to create amazing pieces of art representing the fair and unfair , rich and poor and how to change the world :

Vincent Van Gogh

Last week in art we re-created Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh using oil pastels.  

   

                                

• Vincent had an older brother who died at birth. His name was also Vincent van Gogh.
• Van Gogh was close friends with Paul Gauguin, another famous artist.
•  Vincent van Gogh did not cut off his ear. He only cut off a small portion of his ear lobe.
• Van Gogh created his most famous work The Starry Night while staying in an asylum in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France.

Starry night

What a busy week we have had! Today The Tangfastics have been busy recreating "Starry Night" By Vincent Van Gogh using oil pastels.

Some of us were really adventurous and drew it first!

We are really looking forward to the finished product! Here's some of us hard at work this afternoon:

Very exciting news for Year 5! On February 27th we are really lucky to have the opporunity to visit the National Space Museum.

What's the time?

Last week Miss Palfreeman's Numeracy class had the tricky challenge of learning all about time and even converting from the 12 hour clock to the 24 hour clock!

It was a challenge! But in The Tangfastics class we always say "We're triers not criers" and I have to say everybody tried their hardest, so a very well big done to Year 5.

The Tangfastics have the opportunity over Christmas to work on their own Space project in their homework books. This can be from a collage to a fact file of particular planets. Remember you can also visit your local library over the Christmas holidays to help with your space project

Last but not least... The Tangfastics are having an exciting reading competition in the first week back in January! This is on sumdog and children will be rewarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize.

Outside at Christmas...

The Tangfastics have been working incredibly hard this past week writing their very own Christmas poetry!
We have been using similes to describe the snow and all around.
Some of our super similes were:
'Icicles hanging as sharp as daggers'
'Snow falling like a blanket over the roads'
'Snowflakes delicately falling like confetti'
