The Great Cup Challenge!

We had great fun on Friday during one of our Young Leader's sessions.

Our first task was the great cup challenge. It was not easy! We had to build a pyramid using only elastic bands. We couldn't touch the table or the cups!

Tour de Yorkshire Route Launch!

On Wednesday, Kelsey, Seb, Alyssa, Ethan and Joe were lucky enough to have a trip to Bridlington to represent Selby for the Tour de Yorkshire!

Justice

Today two of our church ambassadors lead collective worship for us.

They began passing the peace around and then we looked at the golden rule from the bible.

We discussed how it is about loving your neighbour as yourself, it is all about treating others as you wish to be treated.

Next, they read a poem "The Lion and the Mouse" to all of year 5, who listened very carefully. Year 5 then talked with a partner about a time when they were shown love by somebody else at home or school.

An example included:

When I was hurt on the playground, my friends picked me up and took me to someone to help me.

Reversible and Irreversible Changes

Today in science we became secret agents and had to complete missions on irreversible and reversible changes
We began by looking at ice cubes. We placed them in our hands and melted them to a liquid (water). We know this is a reversible change as we can freeze them back to ice cubes.
We also looked at burning a match and how is an irreversible change as it can not be changed back to wood once it is burnt.

We then had to investigate whether cooking an egg is reversible or irreversible.

What do you think it is and why? Post your comments below!
